"My overall goal is to help Sealaska develop a strong, efficient, disciplined, successful organization, with a logical grouping of 'sustainable business' enterprises that create value and excellence through the application of Sealaska core values."
Terry Downes began serving as Sealaska’s chief operating officer in August 2012. His primary responsibilities include overseeing Sealaska operations and service-providing subsidiaries.
His operating experience at Thermadyne Industries and serving as Thermadyne COO supported Sealaska’s decision in bringing him into the executive team. Downes also has over 15 years of profit and loss responsibility, mergers and acquisition experience, global experience working in North America, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East, and natural resource and manufacturing experience.
Downes earned a materials science Ph.D. from St. John’s College, Cambridge University, U.K. He also completed a Corporate Finance Executive Program from the London Business School.
