Sealaska Contributes to Juneau Emergency Shelter, Soup Kitchen and Care Center

Sealaska staff and volunteers prepare meal December 2016

For the past two years, Sealaska has provided administrative leave for staff to cook and serve meals at the Glory Hole shelter and soup kitchen in Juneau, AK. Once a month, staff will purchase ingredients, prepare dinner and serve an average of 60 guests. In addition, Sealaska donated $1,500 in 2016 to an “Empty Bowls” fundraiser benefiting the Glory Hole. Sealaska was proud to donate $25,000 to the Juneau Housing First Project that will provide needed housing for the most vulnerable individuals. The new facility and the Glory Hole will work together with other partners to provide a new community resource.
