An educator with a long history of tribal leadership, Ed Thomas is chair of Sealaska Timber Corporation and a director of Managed Business Solutions, LLC and Haa Aani, LLC. He previously served as President of the Central Council of Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska (CCTHITA).

His professional career began in the field of education in 1973 and since then he has developed an outstanding record of high-level service and leadership across the region and state.  Thomas has been a member of Sealaska's board of directors since 1993.

He attended Craig High School. He holds an associate degree from Sheldon Jackson College, a bachelor's degree from the University of Fairbanks and a master's degree from Pennsylvania State University.
