Patrick applies his professional and business experience to the Sealaska Board of Directors to help "stabilize and grow Sealaska into a corporation that has meaning for the lives of its shareholders." He acknowledges that this means different things to different shareholders, but his own philosophy is simple: preserve the assets for future generations, but use and manage them wisely to provide benefit for the current generation.

Patrick feels one of his major contributions to Sealaska is helping to "set the strategic direction for the Corporation. Putting together a good strategic plan takes a substantial commitment of time and energy, and following through requires an ability to remain focused on the plan."
