Mark Shirley previously worked for Tidland Corporation, Fleetwood Enterprises and Consolidated Freightways as auditor and accountant.

Mark, Tlingit Kaagwaantaan Ch'áak' Kúdi Hít (Eagle’s Nest House) and Haida Eagle/Frog, was born and raised in Sitka, and later moved to Washington state. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration with a major in accounting from Washington State University.
