“When
I began my educational journey, I wanted to give back service to my
Alaska Native community. Throughout my life, I have received support,
encouragement and unconditional love from family, friends and my
tribe without which, I would not be where I am today.”
Linda
is responsible for managing 30 years of corporate documents in various
media formats. In 1998, Linda received a Library Technician Certificate
from Lake Washington Technical College, and in 2000 she received a
Bachelor of Arts in social welfare from the University of Washington
School of Social Work. She also graduated with honors in 2003 from the
University of Arizona with a Master of Arts in information resources
and library science.
Linda’s Tlingit names are Kaa Naa Tein and Kaagaaxwuháa. She belongs to the Keet Gooshi Hít (Killerwhale Fin House) in Klukwan of the Dakl’aweidí (Killerwhale Clan). She is Lukaax.ádi dachxán (a grandchild of the Raven Sockeye Clan) from Haines.
Linda
was born in Kirkland, WA and raised in the Bellevue area. After
graduating from high school, she moved to Everett, WA where she
lived the majority of her adult life and raised her two children. During
this time, she visited family in Klukwan Village regularly and always dreamt of moving to Alaska, which is now a reality.
