Katherine Eldemar

Assistant to the President and CEO 


katherine_eldemar.jpgKatherine Eldemar joined Sealaska Corporation in the fall of 2006. Her work encompasses many responsibilities, such as the Southeast Alaska Native Economic Futures Coalition, which addresses economic challenges impacting village and rural communities in Southeast Alaska.

Katherine brings her vast experience in administration and law to Sealaska, having served as a director of Goldbelt Incorporated for nine years and as a trial judge in both tribal courts and Washington State Superior Court. Katherine has taught Indian law at Whatcom Community College and was a partner of Weissmuller & Associates, a general law practice.

Born and raised in Juneau, Alaska, Eldemar is Tlingit Eagle Kaagwaantaan,Gooch Hit;Tak’deintaan Yedi.  Her parents are John Eldemar, Jr. and Mary Eldemar.

Katherine earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration from Seattle University and Juris Doctor degree from the University of Puget Sound School of Law. She has also earned her General Jurisdiction Certificate from the National Judicial College.
