Ethel Lund, Juneau, AK

EthelLund.jpg "I have appreciated the interaction with shareholders of varying ages and in different locales. Our ability to move forward and embrace new ideas is dependent on effective communication, mutual trust and a shared vision."

Ethel Lund has served on the Sealaska Board of Directors since 1988. She serves on the Audit Committee and the Shareholder Relations Committee. She also serves as a trustee of the Sealaska Heritage Institute. She is strongly committed to Sealaska and its cultural programs, and values the time she spends talking with shareholders.

As president emeritus of the Southeast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC), she continues to be a leader in the field of Native health care. In Feb. 2008, SEARHC's Juneau Medical Center was renamed to SEARHC Ethel Lund Medical Center in honor of her dedication to its organization.

Born and raised in Wrangell, AK, Ethel credits her grandparents, Tom and Josephine Ukas, for giving her the charge to serve Native people.

Ethel is a member of the Tlingit Nation, Raven Tribe, Kiks.adí (Frog) Clan. Her Tlingit names are Aanwoogeex' and Shtoo.aak.
