Haa Aaní is a legislative bill that, if it were to become law, would allow Sealaska to finally gain control of valuable traditional lands as promised 36 years ago in the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA).
Haa Aaní was introduced in Congress in September of 2007 and Sealaska board member and former President and CEO Byron Mallott went before the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Natural Resources to testify for the bill on November 14, 2007.
