parents were very influential in my life. My father, a Tlingit speaker,
always stressed education. I’m proud to be working for the Southeast
Alaska Native community.”
Ella Bennett is a full-blooded Tlingit of the Raven Tribe, Tleinneidi Dog Salmon Clan House and Ahnkxaaki Hit. Her Tlingit name is KAOOX.
Originally
from Angoon, AK, Ella has been a Sealaska employee for more than 24
years, and has been the shareholder records manager for the past 16
years.
She has also held several elected and appointed
positions, including board member for Kootznoowoo, Inc., vice president
of the Tlingit-Haida Regional Housing Authority, executive committee
member and chair of the Housing Committee for Tlingit and Haida
Community Council for the City and Borough of Juneau, delegate to the
Central Council of the Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska and a
member of the Alaska Historical Records Advisory Board.
Ella attended the University of Alaska and is a certified public manager.
