Carlene Arnold

carlene_web.jpgSeeking hands-on experience in the corporate realm, Carlene Arnold interned at Sealaska for Corporate Secretary Nicole Hallingstad this summer.

Working alongside Hallingstad, her projects included corporate documentation, records management, archiving vital records, processing board meeting materials, updating corporate databases and general file management. Arnold has enjoyed working as an intern and feels that she has played an important role as an intern.

Arnold grew up in Sitka, Alaska and is the daughter of Richard and Agnes Daniels, and the granddaughter of Charles and Katherine Daniels. Arnold is Tlingit and a member of the Kiksadi Clan.     

She attends the University of Kansas where she pursues her master’s degree in indigenous nations studies, with a concentration in tribal policy and governance. Upon completion of her degree, she plans to work in a Native community and help Native people. She also intends to return to Alaska and take pictures of wildlife and scenic regions.
