“My grandmother Mildred Sparks was a great inspiration to me as a Native leader and as a human being. She was the first Alaska Native Sisterhood Grand President Emeritus and ironically enough she was the first tribal member to be issued Sealaska stock during initial enrollment. Her example has guided me through my public service and will guide me in my service to Sealaska.”
