“The formation of the Native American Contractors Association is an exciting and significant step in the development of Native American-owned businesses. It will provide a coordinated voice for us as contractors and improve the development of our capabilities to compete and grow in the business world.” Chris McNeil Jr., president and CEO, Sealaska Corporation, and chairman of NACA
The Small Business Administration’s (SBA) 8(a) Business Development Program assists the development of small companies owned and operated by individuals who are socially and economically disadvantaged. Once it becomes SBA certified as an 8(a) firm, a company is eligible for federal contract set-asides and other business development support.
The goal of the 8(a) program is to develop the capacity of participant firms to successfully compete for and perform on government contracts, and to take advantage of greater subcontracting opportunities available with large federal prime contractors.
The overall program goal is to graduate companies from the 8(a) program that will go on to successfully compete in the federal marketplace.

has also become a member of the Native American Contractors Association
(NACA), an organization working to enhance the economic
self-sufficiency of America's indigenous people. NACA strives to create
opportunities for Native Americans—American Indians, Alaska Natives
and Native Hawaiians—to become economically self-sufficient by
enabling them to compete more effectively in the marketplace for
government contracts.
