Do You Need to Register to Vote?

button.jpgYour Vote Is Our Strength
Did you know that in 2008, 6 million Americans didn't vote because they missed a registration deadline or didn't know how to register?

For the Alaska Native and American Indian community approximately 1 million people who are eligible to register are not registered to vote.

It is important that each one of us talk with our family and community about voting. Tell them that the Native voice needs to be heard in local, state and federal elections.

WHY SHOULD WE VOTE?
Together our voice represents 17% of people who vote in Alaska. Our native vote can have a game-changing impact on elections at the local, state and federal level,
ONLY if We Vote.

WE KNOW YOU CARE ABOUT
  • The soaring cost of energy
  • The jobs crisis and economic conditions
  • Hunting and fishing rights and access to traditional harvesting grounds
