Tlingit-Haida Regional Housing Authority (THRHA) recently announced that Ricardo Worl was selected by the board of commissioners to serve as CEO. Also, Central Council of the Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska (Central Council) announced a recent promotion and welcomes new staff.
Central Council represents more than 28,000 Tlingit and Haida Indians worldwide. It is a sovereign entity and has a government-to-government relationship with the United States.
Ricardo Worl Ricardo Worl was unanimously selected as president and CEO for Tlingit-Haida Regional Housing Authority by the board of commissioners. Worl is a member of the Shangukweidi Clan (Thunderbird) from the village of Klukwan. He is from the Kawdliyaayi Hit, or "House Lowered from the Sun," and is Lukwaxadi Yadi (a child of the Sockeye Clan). His Tlingit name is Gaachxweinaa.
Theresa Belton Theresa Belton was recently hired as the new Central Council chief financial officer. She is the daughter of James and Mary Erickson and Mona Brown of Hoonah and is married to David Belton. Her Tlingit name is Gulth Tint and she is an Eagle of the Chookaneidà Clan (Glacier Bear).
Michael Halverson Michael Halverson accepted a promotion to controller for Central Council. He previously served as grants administrator with the Finance Department. Halverson is the grandson of the late Annie Johnson of Hoonah, and son of the late Edmond Halverson of Hoonah and Betty Halverson who currently resides in Tacoma, Washington.
