Home > Who We Are > Campaigns > <i>Haa Aaní</i> Legislation > Sign the Letter of Support > SHI sponsors annual Latseen Leadership CampSealaska Heritage Institute (SHI) sponsored its annual Latseen Leadership Camp in July in Juneau at the Boy Scout Camp.Fifty students from across Southeast Alaska participated in many activities, including Tlingit and Haida language lessons, drum making, spruce root weaving and subsistence projects. The camp was held for kids in grades 7-9 and was designed to provide engaging culturally based education and activities for youth in support of their future academic and personal success. The program was supported by a grant from the Alaska Native Education Program (ANEP). To view photos go here
