Sealaska Tribal Member Shareholders Convene for 2010 Annual Meeting
Craig, Alaska - Sealaska tribal member shareholders gathered today for the Corporation’s 37th annual meeting to elect four directors and to vote on a resolution. “It was great to be back on Prince of Wales for the Corporation’s annual meeting,” said Sealaska board chair Albert Kookesh. “We appreciate the hospitality shown to us by the Craig community.”
Tribal member shareholders have been voting by proxy since early May, with nearly 64% of voting shares represented at the meeting in person or by proxy.
Shareholders voted to retain four incumbent directors Patrick Anderson, Clarence Jackson, Jackie Johnson Pata and Jodi Mitchell. Terms will expire at the annual meeting in 2013.
The Sealaska Board of Directors announced the 2010-2011 youth board advisor at the annual meeting. Barbara Blake, whose family is from Hydaburg, was selected from among interested candidates. Barbara recently accepted a one-year position with the Department of Agriculture in Washington, D.C.
Megan Gregory served as the inaugural youth board advisor from 2009-2010. We thank Megan for her year of service and contribution.
Approximately 250 tribal member shareholders and guests attended the meeting in person with another 160 households participating via live webcast.
The board of directors re-elected Senator Albert M. Kookesh to serve as board chair and Dr. Rosita Worl to serve as board vice chair at a meeting following the annual meeting. Sealaska management were also renewed by the board including: Chris E. McNeil, Jr., president and CEO; Sam Landol, chief operating officer Rick Harris, executive vice president; Doug Morris, vice president and chief financial officer; Anthony Mallott, chief investment officer and treasurer; Jaeleen Araujo, vice president and general counsel; Russell Dick, vice president of corporate development and Nicole Hallingstad, vice president corporate secretary and human resources.

SHAREHOLDER RESOLUTION #1: Limit the use of Discretionary Voting Yes 480,664 No 633,767 The number of yes votes needed to pass was 953,499. The Sealaska board of directors recommended a no vote and the resolution fails.
