Sealaska Annual Meeting Letter from the CEO

Dear shareholders,

We are preparing to hold our 35th Annual Meeting of Shareholders this Saturday in San Francisco, California. Each year we conduct an annual meeting to report on business activity, elect directors and vote on shareholder resolutions if any. Annual meetings are just one of the important ways we stay in touch with our tribal member shareholders.

We are pleased to be hosted this year by our Bay Area tribal member shareholders. They have been highly engaged in Sealaska initiatives throughout the years and we appreciate the invitation to conduct the annual meeting here. The Board of Directors continues to rotate the meeting among villages and cities in Alaska, and the lower 48. Next year the annual meeting will be held in Sitka and the 2010 annual meeting will be held on Prince of Wales Island.

Sealaska also has active operations in the Bay Area and this will be an excellent opportunity for our shareholders to interact with our subsidiary leadership. Sealaska Environmental Services is providing environmental remediation, cleanup and consulting to the U.S. Navy at Hunters Point. We are also working with the Cloverdale Rancheria Band of Pomo Indians. As they fight to restore their traditional lands we will assist in developing and managing its new gaming and entertainment enterprises. Kingston Environmental has also recently opened an office north of San Francisco and Sealaska Timber Corporation is opening a marketing office also north of the city to assist in the development of its new wood products division.

Every Sealaska community meeting and annual meeting is an important opportunity to interact with shareholders and business partners. Because our shareholders are spread out geographically we rotate meetings amongst communities with the largest regional concentration of our tribal member shareholders to maximize our reach.

Sealaska ownership is approaching 20,000 tribal member shareholders: 42 percent reside in Southeast Alaska; 12 percent reside in the rest of Alaska; and 46 percent reside in the lower 48 with the largest concentration in Washington, Oregon and California.

For the sixth year-in-a-row, Sealaska will host its annual meeting live via webcast for shareholders who are unable to attend the meeting in-person. Participation in the webcast continues to grow and we encourage you to attend through this method to see the reports in real time. You can also participate in the question and answer period by submitting your questions via email to 2008meeting@sealaska.com during the meeting. Sign up for the annual meeting webcast.

In addition to community and annual meetings, shareholders in Juneau and in other Southeast communities have unique access to Sealaska by visiting Sealaska Plaza during business hours throughout the year. We also hold shareholder receptions during the holiday season and during Gold Medal at Sealaska to interact with board members, management and staff. For all shareholders there is access to management via phone and email if you have questions, comments or concerns. Our Board, management and staff field hundreds of email and phone calls monthly from shareholders.

We appreciate our shareholders’ active participation and we ask for your understanding when we conduct meetings in communities outside of your own. All Sealaska shareholders are precious to us and we respect each member equally, regardless of location.

Shareholder engagement in the Corporation through voting, participation at various meetings, and correspondence via phone and email strengthens our Corporation.
