Board Chair Albert Kookesh Speaks at Native Issues Forum
Board Chair Albert Kookesh spoke at the Native Issues Forum at ANB Hall in April. Kookesh (D-Angoon) announced his intent to re-run for senate and endorsed fellow friend and Alaska Native Bill Thomas (R-Haines), stating the two will work as a team during campaign season.
Kookesh also held a Q&A session with community members, where he had the opportunity to listen to their feedback and discuss his main focus to get funding for villages.
Kookesh has been a member of the U.S. Senate since 2004 and a Sealaska Board member since 1976.
