Scholarship Applications for 2007-08 Available Now from SHI

SHI is accepting scholarship applications for the 2007-2008 school year. Scholarships are available for Sealaska shareholders and descendants enrolled in accredited college, university and voc-tech schools. Applications are posted online for new applicants and current recipients.

The scholarship funds awarded are provided by Sealaska Corporation from an endowment and corporate 7(i) sharing provisions established under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA). The Section 7(i) Agreement among the regional corporations provides scholarships to students seeking degrees in disciplines that lead to employment in Sealaska or its subsidiaries.

Applications are available at www.sealaskaheritage.org. The deadline to apply is March 1, 2007.
