Susan Hamilton, 2015 Sealaska Intern

“Receiving my internship with Sealaska has been an amazing experience. I am placed with Sealaska Heritage Institute and have been working at the summer camps with middle school and high school age students. I have had the opportunity to watch the students learn to weave baskets using their math skills and also make bentwood boxes. I have been learning Haida language and Ravens Tail weaving. This is a once in lifetime opportunity to participate in these math, cultural and leadership camps. I am acquiring knowledge that will help me excel in my future endeavors. Haw'aa Sealaska.”
